ARTISTS' CV



Rancourt/Yatsuk is a collaborative duo of Justin Rancourt, born 1983 in Daytona Beach, FL, and Chuck Yatsuk, born 1984 in Orlando, FL. Justin Rancourt received his BFA from Stetson University, DeLand, FL, and Chuck Yatsuk attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. They currently live and work in Brooklyn, NY.


Rancourt/Yatsuk’s first solo exhibition, a series of performances titled The Switch, was held at Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2010), and was later performed as part of NADA Miami Beach (2010), and in Vienna, AT, as a part of Vienna Arts Week (2011). They subsequently presented their second solo exhibition, Black Diamond, at Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2011), which they also performed as part of the Anyang Gwangju Cross International Performance Art Festival, in Anyang/Gwangju, KR (2012). Their project Villagio was presented at the Frieze Art Fair, London, UK (2015) and was later held as an exhibition at Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY. Their most recent project, titled Horizons, was shown at Locust Projects, Miami, FL in 2018.


Other solo projects include The Keys, Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2013); Cloud10: Rick Walters CD Release Party, Madame Geneva, New York, NY (2012); The Switch, Honor Fraser Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2011); Omega Club: 2011 Annual Gathering, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, Los Angeles, CA (2011); Dynasty VIP, NADA Hudson, Hudson, NY (2011); Phase IV, Art In General, New York, NY (2010); and Master Cleanse, Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2009).


Their work has additionally been exhibited at the Austrian Cultural Forum, New York, NY; Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center, Copenhagen, DK; Center For Contemporary Art (CCA), Kitakyushu, JP; and Kunst Projects, Berlin, DE.


Rancourt/Yatsuk have received reviews in publications such as Artforum, Artinfo, The New York Observer, Art Fag City, ArtSlant, and ArtReview. They have been awarded residencies at The Fountainhead Residency, Miami, FL (2011); Art In General, New York, NY (2010); Seok-su Art Project, Anyang, KR (2008); Swing Space Selected Artists, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY (2008); and In You We Trust, Cushendall, IE (2007). They published a catalogue of their work with Art in General in 2011.
