Ernesto Burgos was born in 1979 in Santa Clara, CA while on exile with his family from Chile. He later moved back to Santiago, CL, spending his youth in Chile before returning to the United States for college, where he received his BFA from California College of the Arts in 2004 and his MFA from New York University in 2008. Burgos currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Burgos has held solo exhibitions at MIER Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2016), The Goma, Madrid, ES (2015, 2012), Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY (2014, 2012), and Halsey Mckay Gallery, East Hampton, NY (2013). He held a solo project at David Castillo Gallery, Miami, FL (2007), and a two-person exhibition with Aaron Raymer at Kate Werble Gallery in 2010.
His work has been shown at galleries and institutions including Van Horn, Dussledorf, DE; Kunstmuseum Magdeburg, Magdeburg, DE; El Museo del Barrio, New York, NY; NADA, New York, NY; Galeria Luis Adelantado, Valencia, ES; Second Home Projects, Berlin, DE; Apex Art, New York, NY; Ideobox, Miami, FL; Carol Jazzar Gallery, Miami, FL; Locust Projects, Miami, FL; The Paper Mill Gallery, Sydney, AU; and Casino Metropolitano, Mexico City, MX.
