Sarah E. Wood was born in Beckley, WV in 1976. She spent her childhood in Louisville, KY before receiving her undergraduate degree at Maryland Institute College of Art in 1999 and her MFA in sculpture at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2001. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Wood held her debut solo exhibition at P.S. 122, New York, NY, in 2008, and presented her second solo exhibition, titled Tilt, at Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY in 2010. She was awarded an outdoor sculpture commission as part of NADA Miami Beach in December 2010.
Her work has been shown at galleries and institutions including Art in General, New York, NY; Foxy Production, New York, NY; Grimm Gallery, Amsterdam, NL; François Ghebaly Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; University Galleries, Illinois State University, Normal, IL; Regina Gouger Miller Gallery, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA; and P.S. 122, New York, NY.
